Curtis Packaging provide high-quality printed folding cartons with many enhancing finishes, specialising in the beauty, retail and luxury sectors. Established in 1938, they originally started manufacturing brown paper bags, evolving to record labels, and now, to this day, designing, creating and manufacturing sustainable packaging.
Steve Mallett, Sales Director, joined in 1992 coming from a beauty background, his vision was to create packaging for a niche market. This evolvement was enforced when James Williams, Managing Director, joined the business in 1996, sharing the same values as Steve.
The team at Curtis are always ahead of the game and in 2007 committed to conduct business in an environmental manner. Since then, Curtis have advocated ‘Packaging that does not cost the earth’ by using environmentally sound materials and methods. Associated with the World Land Trust and FSC, PEFC certified and ISO 1401 certified too, it is this passionate commitment and an approach to environmental sustainability, customer service and high-quality products that is making Curtis Packaging so successful in this exciting market.
In 2016 Curtis implemented a relocation plan, this involved moving to a larger more efficient facility in Redhill, Surrey. The company relocated 95% of the production equipment over one weekend with minimal downtime, which was a huge achievement. At the same time, they also invested in a new press to facilitate small (750 x 520) to large (1020 x 720) formats and shorter print runs.
Then, in 2017 Curtis had a phenomenal year, winning three awards: SME of the Year at UK Packaging Awards, Packaging Printer of the Year and highly commended for Company of the Year at the Print Week Awards and Solutions for Packaging at the Solutions Awards.
