Celloglas, the UK’s leading specialist in decorative print finishing, is celebrating having recently passed the BRC hygiene audit and have been awarded with a BRC certification – the leading product safety and quality certification for retail suppliers.
The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety is a global standard accreditation that provides a framework for managing product safety, integrity, legality and quality in the food manufacturing, processing and packaging industry. It’s used by more than 25,000 certified suppliers in over 130 countries.
Celloglas facilities and staff have been accredited with prestigious Grade AA status – the highest rating achievable – meaning customers can have even more confidence that their finishing operations meet global standards and all work is handled in a hygienic manner.
Hard work has been put in across the board at Celloglas for this accolade. Every member of staff is now fully compliant in the standards, aware of and implementing all cautionary procedures throughout our sites. Not only that, but many suppliers have been brought up to speed too and they also operate to standard.
Part of the strategy for gaining the BRC certification was to invest in a new foil blocking machine and increase the packaging work at the Celloglas site in Leicester..
John Locke, Group Operations and Technical Manager, commented: “We’re extremely proud of this achievement. It comes hot on the heels of the recently installed new foil blocker at Leicester and the two go hand in hand in our bid to take on more packaging work. Hopefully, their coming together will show those in the industry that we’re serious about our finishing operations.”
The highly regarded certification was developed by food industry experts to inspire customer confidence in retailers and manufacturers and ensure products and services are of the highest standard.
The BRC hygiene audit is held annually so customers are assured we’re always evolving and always up to standard.
