JEFF PARRY, Operations Manager for Complete Co-Packing Services Limited, discusses developing new products and making the right decisions along the way…

Bringing a product to market in the UK is full of challenges. Sound knowledge of ingredients, processing techniques, packaging materials, legislation and consumer preferences all need to be carefully balanced and brought together to help you make the right decisions.

Here at Complete Co-packing Services, we work with our clients from the ideas stage onwards to enable products to

get to market as smoothly and as cost-effectively as possible. From bench models to full scale large volume

production, we work on a full range of product types including nutritional supplements, alcoholic drinks and dried food.

With Soil Association and SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) accreditation, we are members of the Organic Trade Board and British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association. We enjoy a strong relationship with a local independent microbiological laboratory and work with the highly respected Cardiff Met Food Industry Centre.

ALL-ROUNDERS

Filling, packing, storing and distributing food, drink and organic products on behalf of many of Europe’s leading retail brands is what we do best. We have purpose-built clean rooms and an extensive inventory of fill and seal equipment. Our facilities include automated sealing, liquid filling, mixing and blending, pasteurisation, pouch,

bottle, jar and sachet filling of capsules, powders, granules and liquids, testing of PH levels and solids, order pick, pack and dispatch and pallet storage and distribution. We also have access to trade facility warehouse licence status (by HMRC) together with a compounders licence so we are able to offer ‘duty in suspension’ blending and filling for alcoholic beverages.

With rigorous control process and quality management procedures throughout our business, we are proud to hold ISO 9001-2008 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental certification. By adopting and working to the quality management systems of our key clients, we are able to perform at the highest level with pride and consistency in all that we do.

Indeed, our quality management team are an integral part of the new product development process which includes shelf life analysis and nutritional testing to ensure legal compliance. This means that we always adopt a holistic approach to development resulting in the highest end product quality. We want your product to succeed just as much as you!

BEGINNING TO END

From the initial enquiry, we work in partnership with our clients, focusing on solutions for packaging, labelling and manufacturing. Our strong relationships with industry colleagues means that we are also able to introduce third-

party support where needed. Of course, this is all carried out with the upmost confidentiality and professionalism.

As well as being able to advise on packaging suitability in product development, we can also carry out small pilot trials in our clean rooms to assess all aspects of packaging and manufacturing processes including PH testing, shelf life analysis and nutritional testing. This is particularly important for ‘test’ volumes.

The development of a new product is a complex process, so make sure you choose the right manufacturer and contract pack partner from the outset for the best chance of getting your product to market. Complete Co-Packing Services really does have the facilities and the know-how to take your product from concept to shelf. What’s more, we’ll stand by you every step of the way…
