Digital Investment By Ultimate Digital And Kalas Packaging

Ultimate Digital part of the Ultimate Group has installed a second HP Indigo 20000 digital press for flexibles and Kalas Packaging has commissioned their HP Indigo 30000 press for folding cartons.

Digital print opens the door to creative campaigns that feature high quality printed packaging and packaging with connective elements including scannable data glyphs and unique codes. Digital print
can be used to produce a full range of packaging formats, including cartons, labels and flexibles such as resealable pouches, flowraps and lidding films.

The Ultimate Group can deliver the complete service, from digital marketing and creative packaging
design to digital print and flexo print for flexible packaging. The business has invested heavily in to
digital by developing Ultimate Digital and Sharp Iris to provide a complementary service to Ultimate
Packaging, their already well-established flexo business.

The investment into a second HP Indigo 20000 digital press means Ultimate Digital has doubled print
capacity and can now print close to 50000 linear metres of digital film per day.

The Ultimate Group has connected with Kalas Packaging to help provide customers with a complete
digital solution for flexibles and cartons, enabled by Smartflow.

Kalas Packaging has installed an HP Indigo 30000 digital press for folding cartons and sleeves, the
only digital print machine that uses low migration food safe inks and that can print lightfast inks. The
press produces very high quality print and features an in-line UV coater that can create a wide
variety of varnish finishes.
