PPFL produce pouch perfection for Cake Angels

PPFL (Planned Packaging Films Limited) were given the challenge by Fiddes Payne to design a new pouch for their frosting products under the Cake Angels Brand. The brief was to design a bespoke pouch that could fit in the hand comfortably, mimicking the action of a piping bag, making it perfect as a ready-to-go solution for decorating cakes and cupcakes. After a number of trials, a final shape was agreed on to hold 300g of frosting.

Emma Tomkins, Marketing Manager at Fiddes Payne said: “It was nice to work with a company that understood the brief and was able to produce exactly what we were looking for within our tight timescales.”

To match the premium brand image, the pouch was produced using a triple laminate and printed using gravure to give the highest print quality. To top it off, a 20mm spout was required to help make the filling of the pouches easier and quicker, whilst also allowing customers to perfect their cake decorating by controlling the flow. The icing on the cake, however, was a custom made pink cap and nozzle that had to be produced to ensure that the pack stands out on shelf and match the other products in the Cake Angels range.
