Curtis Packaging are committed to conducting business operations in an environmental manner and are continually improving operations to minimize their impact on the environment.
With this in mind they invested in supporting the World Land Trust (WLT). The WLT pioneered the Buy an Acre concept of buying land for conservation, starting back in 1989, and has, since then, funded ground breaking habitat protection for more than 25 years, with an impressive track record of achievements.
The World Land Trust and its overseas project partners have been instrumental in the purchase and protection of more than 600,000 acres of tropical rainforest and other threatened habitats and together ensure that more than four million acres of land is managed under active protection worldwide.
As carton manufacturers they support this carbon balancing scheme by choosing materials from a range of ‘carbon balanced papers’ where each material has had it’s footprint measured and calculated. Their customers can help them reach targets they set by choosing these materials and in turn they will have the WLT logo displayed on their packaging.
Curtis Packaging are proud to announce that by balancing their own business footprint emissions and using carbon balanced papers between 2011 and 2018 they have offset 2326 tonnes of carbon dioxide enabling the WLT to preserve 85 acres of critically endangered rainforest.
